Morphonotactics is a term that was first introduced in 2006 by Dressler and Dziubalska-Kołaczyk to cover the area of interaction between phonotactics and morphotactics. More than 15 years later, morphonotactics is a subbranch of phonology which has been studied in 9 languages (Croatian, English, German, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Slovak, Lithuanian, Italian), by a team of 30 scholars in such areas of external evidence as written and spoken corpora, child language, psycholinguistics as well as diachrony. The international network of scholarly cooperation resulted in approximately 40 publications and numerous talks in conferences and congresses.
